Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Starting in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American businesses and families saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Each Pella® product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only might you find a drop in your heating and cooling costs, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are all specifically designed and made-to-order for your home, meaning no two projects are alike. Our broad spectrum of products make it hard to discuss pricing without first understanding your wants and needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price after seeing the project site itself. To expedite the process, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they can give you all the quote information you’ll need—as soon as the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the task and brings them to life with your vision.

In addition to offering a large assortment of first-rate products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Memphis area home as you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mixture or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to form streaks or create a film that draws moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella products. We require them to complete a rigid set of training courses so that your windows and doors are correctly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty standards. We seek out the best Memphis-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before they can be hired, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. Beyond Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Pella provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t match. Our specialty is selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your renovation will have the expertise of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. If you have any concerns, simply contact our office or your sales representative and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Memphis homeowners pick Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella was founded in 1925 and has remained privately-held the entire time. All of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with care and serviced by Pella’s qualified Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated replacement window and doors design centers throughout North America. This unique way of conducting business gives the homeowners in Memphis a highly personal experience with the assistance of a local to Memphis, Pella-certified team. Whether you are contemplating the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a superior quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
